Global Technical Operations & Supply
Global Technical Operations & Supply (Global TechOp&S) is Chiesi’s global manufacturing and supply area, responsible for ensuring consistent, outstanding quality, service and value across our end‑to‑end supply chain. Global TechOp&S oversees the entire lifecycle of the drug: from process optimization and industrialization, to manufacturing, engineering, quality oversight, and supply chain management. Throughout this journey, Operational Excellence drives continuous improvement. This end‑to‑end model is powered by our four manufacturing sites - Parma (IT), Blois (FR), Santana de Parnaíba (BR), and Nerviano (IT) - together with our Virtual Plant network of external partners.

This is what you will do
The Global Engineering Compliance & Risk Management Lead sets and improves Global Engineering standards around GxP, sustainability, asset integrity, maintenance, and safety. As the company’s technical authority, the role ensures regulatory alignment, drives a proactive compliance culture, and strengthens engineering capabilities across all sites.
It leads governance, audits, and risk‑mitigation processes, establishing a unified framework for identifying, assessing, and managing engineering risks. The role monitors KPIs, supports sites in closing corrective actions, and embeds forward‑looking, risk‑based thinking into standards, maintenance strategies, and capital planning.
Operating with high autonomy and partnering with senior leadership, the role ensures engineering compliance and risk management contribute to business continuity, cost efficiency, and sustainable global growth.
You will be responsible for
- Define and maintain global engineering and maintenance compliance standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, GMP best practices, HSE international standards, industry best practices, corporate policies, and corporate sustainability ambition.
- Provide strategic leadership and technical authority across all manufacturing sites, acting as the primary point of reference for maintenance management, asset integrity, and engineering governance where compliance discipline is applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing risk exposure in process safety, machinery safety, hazardous utilities, and electrical safety through standardized engineering and maintenance practices.
- Conduct global assessments and audits to monitor compliance levels, identify gaps, and support corrective and preventive actions across production facilities.
- Lead risk mitigation strategies related to asset conditions and maintenance processes, directly contributing to business continuity and operational resilience.
- Coach and support local engineering teams, fostering knowledge sharing, capability building, and consistent implementation of global standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and executive stakeholders to ensure that engineering compliance priorities are embedded in business planning and capital investment decisions.
- Establish and govern a global engineering risk management framework, acting as the technical authority for risk across all engineering disciplines, including definition, tracking, and reporting of risk-related KPIs and ensuring consistent governance across sites.
- Guide and oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of emerging engineering risks from audits and assessments, ensuring robust action plans, timely execution, and continuous improvement of risk mitigation effectiveness.
You will need to have
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
- 8–12 years of experience in the industry, with a strong experience in Mechanical Electrical Piping Design, agility in international engineering standards
