The in the role of Rare Disease Marketing Lead you will lead, shape and execute the marketing plan for the Global Rare Disease (GRD) UK (United Kingdom) Affiliate to support the growth of new and existing products ensuring marketing plans/strategies support and shape the sales objectives, whilst delivering value to the customer/NHS.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with rare or specialised medicines within the pharmaceutical industry and be able to demonstrate continued and sustained delivery of results through developing and implementing strong marketing/brand plans that meet the needs of the organisation and the customer/market.

Purpose
To lead, shape and execute the marketing plan for the Global Rare Disease (GRD) UK (United Kingdom) Affiliate to support the growth of new and existing products ensuring marketing plans/strategies support and shape the sales objectives, whilst delivering value to the customer/NHS.
Work cross functionally both at a local and corporate level to ensure consistency and in support of the company goals including new market initiatives, product promotion, KOL development, medical conventions, compliance and risk management.
Profile
The job holder must have a proven track record of working with rare or specialised medicines within the pharmaceutical industry and be able to demonstrate continued and sustained delivery of results through developing and implementing strong marketing/brand plans that meet the needs of the organisation and the customer/market.
Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to flex and adapt to the constant changing needs of the business and pharmaceutical market is essential, as is the need to ensure effective cross functional working at all levels of the organisation.
The job holder must be able to develop strong external partnerships, leading and directing third parties to work in partnership with the organisation.
With the importance of compliance and adherence to the ABPI Code of Practice, attention to detail and a strong understanding of the code is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong business intelligence on the market, competitors and customers and utilise this knowledge to support strategic planning and business forecasting.
- Establish, track and report on strategic plans, ensuring regular and timely progress updates are provided to the Head of Rare Diseases and other members of the Leadership team.
- Develop short-, medium- and long-term marketing plans, working closely with the operation to ensure effective execution.
- Understand corporate strategic brand plans, leverage concepts and turn into campaigns/ strategies for the UK market.
- Track product life cycles through the key stages (introduction, growth, maturity, and sales decline).
- Establish strong supplier partnerships, ensuring commercial benefit for the organisation
- Implement KPIs for suppliers and manage performance delivery through regular supplier review meetings
- Provide business partnering/marketing support for areas of the field force in order to understand their needs and to deliver ‘fit for purpose’ marketing tools, training and other initiatives
- Develop strong customer, market and therapy area knowledge, establishing self as an expert
- Establish strong Key Opinion Leaders relationships/partnerships to support both Corporate and UK plans
- Provide support to the Rare Disease business by anticipating thinking of HTAs such as NICE for launch of new products and life cycle management of existing brands.
- Create cohesive working relationships with the Rare Disease leadership team to ensure harmonisation of strategies and effective execution of marketing plans.
- Develop and maintain a KOL knowledge database
- Control the market spend/budget, tracking spends and measuring return on investment
- Establish internal forums to support both strategic and operational planning.
- Lead and set up meetings with key contacts, ensuring attendance of key UK and/or Corporate Senior Managers.
- Ensure events calendar well planned to raise the profile and/or awareness of Chiesi GRD and/or its products and therapy areas
- Identify and/or support analysis of existing and new market opportunities for the UK Affiliate
- Inspire, lead and develop a strong Brand Management and KOL Development team.
- Plan resource and regularly evaluate to ensure optimum delivery
- Establish and maintain a strong network of key influencers within the NHS and Pharmaceutical industry
- Develop a strong internal network both locally and at a corporate level
- Able to critique work and/or proposals and foresee challenges in order to put in place plans to mitigate any risks
- Ensure strict compliance of all marketing activity/material to both company standards (SOPs) and the ABPI Code of Practice
- Comply with the Company Code of Ethics
- Marketing expert on the ABPI Code, SOPs and Code of Ethics,
- Respond and deliver to ad hoc work requests from the Leadership team.
