Global Technical Operations & Supply 

Global Technical Operations & Supply (Global TechOp&S) is Chiesi’s global manufacturing and supply area, responsible for ensuring consistent, outstanding quality, service and value across our end‑to‑end supply chain. Global TechOp&S oversees the entire lifecycle of the drug: from process optimization and industrialization, to manufacturing, engineering, quality oversight, and supply chain management. Throughout this journey, Operational Excellence drives continuous improvement. This end‑to‑end model is powered by our four manufacturing sites - Parma (IT), Blois (FR), Santana de Parnaíba (BR), and Nerviano (IT) - together with our Virtual Plant network of external partners.

This is what you will do

The Head of Integrated Planning is accountable for defining and leading the global, demand-driven supply chain strategy for the Rare Diseases portfolio. The role acts as a central orchestration point across the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring that demand, supply, and strategic priorities are fully aligned to guarantee uninterrupted patient access in highly constrained environments. Operating at the intersection of Commercial, Regulatory, Quality Assurance (QA), Finance, and Operations, the role drives enterprise-wide decision-making, balancing patient needs, revenue optimization, and operational feasibility. This position represents a critical leadership role within the Global Rare Diseases Supply Chain, with direct influence on business performance, strategic planning, and cross-functional governance at senior levels.

 

Scope & Organizational Impact

  • Global accountability across all Rare Disease products, markets, and supply nodes
  • Leads a global organization of Demand Managers and Brand Planning leaders
  • Central role in orchestrating planning across manufacturing sites, CMOs, distribution, and affiliates
  • Owns global inventory strategy, allocation frameworks, and prioritization logic
  • Drives alignment between long-term strategic planning and short-term execution realities
  • Influences decision-making at senior leadership level across Supply Chain and Business functions
  • Acts as key interface between Global Supply Chain and GRD Business Leadership

You will be responsible for

  • Define and lead the global Integrated Business Planning (IBP/S&OP) strategy for Rare Diseases
  • Establish a fully demand-driven planning model integrating commercial signals with real supply constraints
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global planning organization
  • Drive enterprise trade-off decisions under constrained supply
  • Integrate planning across internal manufacturing, external partners, and distribution networks
  • Own global supply chain performance (service, forecast accuracy, inventory, responsiveness)
  • Lead evolution toward advanced, constraint-based planning and scenario modelling
  • Drive digital transformation of planning capabilities
  • Act as governance lead for cross-functional planning processes
  • Ensure alignment between strategic planning cycles and financial/operational targets

You will also:

  • Serve as the primary global planning interface to GRD Affiliates and Customer Operations
  • Partner with Regional and Affiliate leadership to align demand assumptions and supply priorities
  • Provide transparency on supply risks, allocation decisions, and mitigation strategies protecting and enabling revenue growth also driving working capital efficiency
  • Influence Commercial, Regulatory, QA, and BD stakeholders on planning implications
  • Enable alignment between global strategy and local execution
  • Safeguards uninterrupted patient access
  • Accelerates digital transformation

You will need to have

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • Over 10 years of experience in supply chain within biotech companies
  • Fluent English
  • End-to-end planning experience
  • Leadership of global teams

  • Enterprise mindset

We would prefer for you to have

  • MBA or equivalent preferred
  • Training in IBP or Digital Supply Chain valued

Location

The position is open in Europe, with a preference for Dublin and Italy.
