Global Finance
The Global Finance Department — which includes also Global Procurement and ICT — is committed to continuously improving the Chiesi Group’s performance and governance. It plays a key role in strategic corporate operations thanks to its contribution across all areas of the Group, from geographical to global, and from business to departmental. To guide the Chiesi Group in its short-, medium- and long-term decisions, the Team defines clear targets and develops action plans to achieve them effectively.
Who we are looking for
This is what you will do
The Plant Controller will be responsible for managing and controlling the financial and operational activities of the Nerviano production site. This key role will work closely with the site leadership team (of which it will be a member) and with the central functions of the industrial division to ensure operational efficiency and the achievement of financial objectives.
You will be responsible for
- Monitor and analyze the site's financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing corrective actions.
- Monitor key financial KPIs and ensure alignment with corporate financial targets.
- Supervise standard costs, cost-roll processes, bills of materials (BOM), and production cycles for the plant.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Manage monthly closing processes and reconcile production and inventory accounts.
- Provide financial evaluations of investment decisions and potential Make-or-Buy scenarios.
- Monitor production expenses, scrap, yield variances, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of information.
- Collaborate with production managers and the site director to optimize operational costs and improve process efficiency.
- Lead and manage the site's annual budget planning, intra-year forecasts, and long-term strategic planning.
- Monitor expenses and investments, ensuring compliance with financial projections.
- Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation and information.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects, contributing to the implementation of the best financial and operational practices.
You will need to have
- Degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields.
- At least 7 years of experience in management control roles, with specific experience in industrial controlling
- Excellent written and spoken Italian
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, production finance, and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of international accounting principles and Italian tax regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and major financial management software.
- Ability to work in uncertain contexts and anticipate scenarios.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong result orientation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in teams.
- Ambition to grow within an international context.
We would prefer for you to have
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Location
The role is based in Nerviano (Milan), but during the initial phase a weekly presence in Parma will be requested, as it is our HQ and where the team is currently located.
