Our R&D team represents a fundamental asset for the business. It is divided into integrated functional areas focusing on pipeline projects including discovery and preclinical research, global technical development, drug delivery technology, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D project and portfolio management. Who we are looking for
Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive In Vitro Pharmacology Scientist to join our research team and contribute to our innovative projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing cell-based assays for emerging targets and functional screening of drug candidates to guide candidate design and selection for the treatment of respiratory diseases.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute in vitro pharmacological assays for target identification and validation.
- Design, develop, and execute in vitro pharmacological assays to evaluate the efficacy and mechanism of action of new drug candidates.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and in vivo pharmacology, to advance drug discovery projects.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments and results.
- Present findings to internal teams and contribute to scientific publications and patent applications.
- Stay current with the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in the field of preclinical drug discovery.
- Evaluate and implement new bioassay techniques and in vitro pharmacology protocols.
- Manage collaborations with external partners, including CROs, biotech companies, and academic research groups.
Experience Required
- Strong background in in vitro pharmacology, with hands-on experience in cell-based assays development and execution. An immunology background is a plus.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry is a plus.
- Proven experience in leading/managing complex projects without supervision.
- Familiarity with external sourcing and/or partnering opportunities within in vitro assay development and compound screening space.
Education
Scientific degree (Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies, Pharmacy, Veterinary, or similar discipline) with at least three years of experience within pharma company and/or CRO. PhD is preferred but it is not mandatory.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English
Technical Skills
- Expertise in developing and validating cell-based assays.
- Experience in the use of high-content screening approaches and 3D advanced in vitro models is a plus.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, Western blotting, and ELISA.
- Experience with primary cells isolation and tissues processing for RNA or protein analysis.
- FACS analysis and immunology techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis software such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, or similar.
- Ability to work with diverse biological modalities, including peptides, proteins, small molecules, and oligonucleotides.
- Experience with laboratory automation and instrumentation.
