Global Technical Operations & Supply 

Global Technical Operations & Supply (Global TechOp&S) is Chiesi’s global manufacturing and supply area, responsible for ensuring consistent, outstanding quality, service and value across our end‑to‑end supply chain. Global TechOp&S oversees the entire lifecycle of the drug: from process optimization and industrialization, to manufacturing, engineering, quality oversight, and supply chain management. Throughout this journey, Operational Excellence drives continuous improvement. This end‑to‑end model is powered by our four manufacturing sites - Parma (IT), Blois (FR), Santana de Parnaíba (BR), and Nerviano (IT) - together with our Virtual Plant network of external partners.

This is what you will do

Responsible for the reliability, and continuous improvement of equipment, machinery, and systems within a facility. Ensures optimal performance of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components across industrial environments. Contributes to operational efficiency, equipment optimization, and automation initiatives to maximize overall performance and productivity.

You will be responsible for

  • Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Overseeing and carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs and installations
  • Developing maintenance procedures and ensuring implementation
  • Planning and scheduling planned and unplanned maintenance work
  • Monitoring equipment inventory and placing orders when necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
  • Managing contractors and ensuring they complete works to a satisfactory standard
  • Diagnosing faults and investigating equipment breakdowns
  • Advising on equipment upgrades or replacements based on its current condition and operational requirements
  • Documenting all maintenance and repair work for record-keeping and future reference
  • Managing budgets for maintenance-related expenses
  • Training maintenance staff and managing their work schedules
  • Performing root cause analysis on major failures and recommending necessary action to prevent recurrence

You will need to have

  • Previous experience in roles within the pharmaceutical industry (manufacturing environment)
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in similar roles
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering/Science (preferred in process engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation technology or a similar discipline)

Technical Skills

  • Advanced certifications in maintenance or relevant field (Preferred)
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
