Chiesi CCO - Commercial Organization
Chiesi is structured in five main areas: Research & Development, Global Manufacturing, Corporate Functions, CCO Organization and Global Rare Diseases.
CCO - Commercial Organization: Following the continued growth of the Company and the increasing portfolio complexity, Chiesi decided to introduce the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) role and organization. The new organization is a truly global operating model, ensuring a uniform approach across all geographies (30 affiliates worldwide). The CCO Organization includes Global Marketing, Global Medical Affairs, Global Value & Access and all the commercial functions of every affiliate.
Who we are looking for
Purpose
For Chiesi, as a research-driven international Group, Global Value and Access (GVA) represents a key department, sitting within the Commercial Organization, and directly reporting to the CCO (Chief Commercial Officer).
The Global Value and Access department encompasses (1) two strategic Value and Access units for Respiratory / Special Care portfolios, (2) a Pricing and Reimbursement unit, (3) staff functions (administrative assistant and Project coordinator manager).
The Respiratory HEOR Lead position sits within the strategic Value and Access Respiratory, reporting to the Head of the unit.
GVA is embedded in key processes; during product development, GVA provides input for value identification and demonstration. During commercialization, we act as a key partner for affiliates as well as for other global commercial functions (Marketing, Medical).
The HEOR Lead is accountable for the development and execution of the HE and OR strategy and activities under the supervision of the GVA Respiratory Head. He/she works both within the Respiratory GVA team and cross-functionally with Global Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, R&D and other departments to provide input throughout the whole lifecycle of Chiesi’s brands with the goal to support patient access.
HEOR strategies are implemented for pipeline products to build value alongside clinical development (e.g., BoI, early HE models) as well as for in-market brands, supporting affiliates in their P&R, with local HE tailoring as a key task.
Main Responsibilities
- Define / execute HEOR strategy / plan for Respiratory brands in development / in – market, thus contributing to cross-functional Product Plan
- Review Clinical Development Plans / Protocols providing input / recommendations
- Contribute to the Value Story/ Global Value dossiers, with other GVA/Commercial teams
- Develop / review HE models; develop / manage / supervise OR projects, in collaboration with Global Medical Affairs / Global Clinical Development
- HEOR publication plan – integrated within products’ publication plans
- Standing member in cross-functional Project Teams
- Support evaluation of in-licensing candidates
- Support global price targets / strategy development
- Supervise HEOR tools adoption / adaptation by affiliates
- Support Affiliates’ P&R dossier development
- Establish / maintain strong collaboration with leaders from other internal functions, driving cultural change towards a value-based approach
- Ensure compliance with all internal, external, and regulatory agencies rules
Experience Required
4+ years of pharmaceutical/ healthcare/ consultancy experience, including 2+ years in Global / Region Europe; proven track record of HEOR strategy development
Mastery of HTA processes and international pricing and reimbursement environments
Education
Master’s degree in Life-sciences, Health Economics / Economics, Health Policy.
MBA, PhD in Market Access would represent a plus.
Languages
Fluent (C1+) in written and spoken business English
Technical Skills
The position requires expertise in the following areas:
- Understanding the global payer and HTA landscape and main P&R archetypes
- Understanding unmet HEOR evidence needs by product / P&R archetype
- Outlining and implementing HEOR strategy for assets in development
- Managing Outcome Research studies, particularly retrospective database studies
- Developing / adapting / assessing HE models at different stages of development
- Contributing to the development of Value Stories, Global Value Dossiers, etc
- Defining and managing HEOR publication plan
- Supporting pricing
- Managing HEOR budget, external vendors, ensuring compliance
- Supporting affiliates in reimbursement / market shaping activities, supervising local HEOR tools adoption and their impact
