Chiesi Corporate Functions

At Chiesi, the Corporate Functions serve as drive and support for the Group’s business operations. Encompassing key areas such as Global Finance, Global Procurement, Global ICT, Global Human Resources, Global Legal, Compliance & IP, and Global Communications & Public Affairs, these functions ensure consistency, efficiency, and operational integrity.

Complementing these functions, the Transformation Office is responsible for ensuring the strategic alignment of the organization. It promotes an integrated, digital, and customer-centric approach, supporting growth, efficiency, and value creation in an increasingly data-driven world. The Transformation Office ensures coherence between vision and execution, acting as a catalyst for change across the entire organization.

The Strategy, Sustainability & Growth Department is also part of the Corporate Functions. It includes areas such as Global Strategy, SV&S and Business Development, Competitive Intelligence, and other key capabilities. It is accountable for defining the ‘One Chiesi’ Strategy and allocating resources to create long-term, sustainable, shared value for the Group and its stakeholders.

Who we are looking for

This is what you will do

We are looking for an experienced and motivated strategy professional for the role of Corporate Strategy Lead, reporting to the Head of Corporate Strategy. This team sits within the broader  Strategy, Sustainability and Growth – unit, and is responsible for shaping Chiesi’s long-term strategic direction, translating ambition into concrete choices on portfolio, growth opportunities, and resource allocation. He/she will be an active contributor to the definition of the Group strategy and priorities, as well as a key actor in enabling strategic decision making and monitoring strategy implementation. He/She will be a key interface for Chiesi franchises, corporate functions and affiliates in shaping their plans in alignment with the Group ambition and targets.

You will be responsible for

  • Be a thought partner for franchises, regions and/or key corporate functions in defining, cascading, monitoring and revising the long-term (5-10 years) and mid-term (3-5 years) ambition and priorities, in alignment with Chiesi Group ones.
  • Foster continuous strategic dialogue within the areas of responsibility to ensure effective implementation of the Group strategic planning process and right trajectory to reach Group objectives based on internal and external events.
  • Partner with Global Finance to align financial trajectory with strategic priorities, and scenario models supporting resource allocation
  • Lead strategic projects with key stakeholders to enable appropriate strategic decision making at senior leadership level e.g. market entry, business model innovation, portfolio optimisation, inorganic growth opportunities etc.
  • Foster full integration of the company's values and sustainability commitment throughout all the steps of the strategic process
  • Synthesise external market, competitive, and scientific trends to inform strategic discussions and shape leadership decisions

You will need to have

  • Scientific, Economic or Engineering academic background
  • At least 5-7 years of corporate strategy and/or management consulting in the Healthcare (Pharma, Biotech, Devices) Industry, including demonstrated exposure to portfolio, market or pipeline strategy
  • Demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional projects with senior stakeholder exposure (Executive Team or Franchise Heads)
  • Global, strategic mindset and advanced modeling and financial analysis capabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data and information into actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ability to craft clear, insightful narratives and translate complex analysis into strategic recommendations for senior audiences
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and appetite for learning - able to connect diverse inputs into strategic insight
  • Cross functional leadership skills to enable impactful decisions in teams without direct reporting structure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured environment driving projects forward
  • Comfortable operating autonomously while effectively collaborating in a matrixed, multicultural environment
  • Fluent in English

We would prefer for you to have

  • Operational (marketing, sales, R&D) or finance/business planning experience is a significant plus
  • Italian is nice to have; any additional language is considered a plus

The role is based in HQ in Parma, Italy with hybrid working arrangement combining smart-working and presence in the offce
