Global Finance
The Global Finance Department — which includes also Global Procurement and ICT — is committed to continuously improving the Chiesi Group’s performance and governance. It plays a key role in strategic corporate operations thanks to its contribution across all areas of the Group, from geographical to global, and from business to departmental. To guide the Chiesi Group in its short-, medium- and long-term decisions, the Team defines clear targets and develops action plans to achieve them effectively
Who we are looking for
This is what you will do
You will manage and coordinate all activities related to the acquisition, management, and reporting of public and subsidized funding (regional, national, European) supporting pharmaceutical research projects, industrial development, and the construction of new production facilities, with a strong focus on ESG integration.
You will be responsible for
- Scouting and continuous monitoring of funding opportunities (calls, grants, incentives) for R&D, manufacturing, IT, and HR.
- Scouting, coordinating the preparation and submission of funding applications, involving company departments in drafting technical, scientific, and financial documentation.
- Managing the full lifecycle of funded projects: planning, budgeting, progress monitoring, technical and financial reporting, audit, and compliance.
- Liaising with funding bodies, public institutions, industry associations, and sector clusters (e.g., Farmindustria, Confindustria,Regione ER , Banks as global coordinators of the funding part of the process).
- Lobbying and representing the company in technical committees and institutional working groups.
- Supporting and collaborate to the definition of strategies for sustainable industrial investment, integrating ESG criteria and industry best practices, looking for possible angle of funding the activities.
- Ensure the involvement of Chiesi Departments for the preparation of projects plans by providing scientific evaluation through the definition of costs and human resources.
- Dealing with planning & budgeting of financing projects.
- Developing and continuously improving processes and tools for efficient funding management and regulatory compliance.
- Selecting and supervising internal data entry activities related to the reporting of projects on European portals, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Selecting and managing relationships with consulting firms responsible for uploading project data and supporting grant applications.
- Maintaining ongoing relationships with scouting consultants to identify new funding opportunities and ensure alignment with company priorities.
- Centralizing and coordinating all global requests for grant financing, including those related to PhD programs where the company acts as an investor or funder, not only as a recipient of funds.
You will need to have
- Degree in scientific, economic, or related disciplines; Master’s in Project Management, Innovation Management, or similar is preferred.
- At least 5 years’ experience in similar roles (grant management, subsidized finance, project management in R&D or industrial settings, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector).
- Fluent English and Italian
- Excellent knowledge of major funding sources (MiUR, MiSE, AIFA, Horizon Europe, PNRR, etc.) and relevant regulations.
Advanced skills in project management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. - Familiarity with key ESG frameworks (GRI, SBTi, CSRD, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
We would prefer for you to have
- Experience in lobbying or participation in technical committees.
- Previous experience in multinational or structured environments.
