Who we are looking for
Purpose
Our Competitive Intelligence team – part of the Strategy, Sustainability and Growth Unit – is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and interpreting the competitive landscape of AIR and CARE therapeutic areas and for assessing external competitive environment of areas of interest for Chiesi business by providing insights about opportunities/threats to trigger business decisions.
Reporting to the Competitive Intelligence Head, you will work in a cross-functional and dynamic environment analyzing and interpreting the external landscape and providing actionable strategic insights and compelling recommendations to inform and/or trigger strategic business decisions, enhance commercial operations and support functions’ projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Build robust global competitive landscapes by proactively analyzing secondary and primary intelligence sources
- Collect, monitor and interpret well-rounded competitors’ insights & strategy with regards to financials, products’ development & life cycle management, organizational capabilities, customer engagement activities
- Lead competitors’ and peer companies’ strategic analyses
- Foster strong working relationships and be a point of reference in cross-functional teams for the identification and evaluation of scenario’s challenges and opportunities related to inorganic growth options
- Collect primary intelligence insights to contribute to the interpretation of new benchmarks and trends across industry (e.g. digital therapeutics, non-pharma solutions, sustainability)
- Partner closely with global and local teams to provide actionable strategic insights and compelling recommendations ensuring the effective incorporation in the Company’s plans and the delivery to key stakeholders
- Strengthen and expand the knowledge base by overseeing and challenging the work of external intelligence providers, ensuring high-quality insights for decision-making
- Lead strategic workshops and war games
- Support Competitive Intelligence capability strengthening, sharing best practices and learnings with the local teams at affiliate level
- Continuously improve intelligence processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Attend international selected conferences and events to gather, synthetize and report insights on new external trends
- Contribute to the creation of an internal Competitive Intelligence newsletter and insights’ reports
Experience Required
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Competitive, Strategic or Market Intelligence, Strategy & Insights, Business Development & Licensing or a related field within the pharmaceutical industry or consulting
Education
PhD/Master's Degree in Economics, Business or Life Sciences
Languages
Fluency in English (both written and spoken)

Location
The position can be located in one of our subsidiaries in EU. If not based in Parma, regular travel to the HQ will be required.
