Global Technical Operations & Supply 

Global Technical Operations & Supply (Global TechOp&S) is Chiesi’s global manufacturing and supply area, responsible for ensuring consistent, outstanding quality, service and value across our end‑to‑end supply chain. Global TechOp&S oversees the entire lifecycle of the drug: from process optimization and industrialization, to manufacturing, engineering, quality oversight, and supply chain management. Throughout this journey, Operational Excellence drives continuous improvement. This end‑to‑end model is powered by our four manufacturing sites - Parma (IT), Blois (FR), Santana de Parnaíba (BR), and Nerviano (IT) - together with our Virtual Plant network of external partners.

This is what you will do

The person will be included in the Global External Platforms Engineering team and will be focused on managing and coordinating the life cycle management of external platforms, analyzing the production outputs to ensure they align with the annual requirements. Moreover, the resource will define, in collaboration with other departments, the needs for maintaining the platform at the state of the art.

You will be responsible for

  • Manage technical contact with External Platforms suppliers to guarantee engineering oversight on day by day operations
  • Act as technical authority in areas of Injection Moulding and Assembly of pharmaceutical devices driving design operations and technical investigations
  • Optimise and validate injection moulding and assembly processes, liaising with external suppliers and providing advise on tooling and capital plan selection;
  • Act as Project Manager in capital projects workstream related to new installation or refurbishment of equipment involved in Injection Moulding and device assembly
  • Support validation activities of new processes by assessing criticality of process parameters and adjustments related to tooling and assembly equipment;
  • Manage all the aspects of the tools and assembly lines refurbishment, including the management of spares and upgrade of the production platform;
  • Review technical evaluations of external partners (Design Consultants / Specialist test consultants / prototype manufacturers) involved in maintenance and projects activities
  • Drive operational engineering evolution programs of external platforms by defining improvements, detecting gaps and risks, propose solutions and work with suppliers to achieve targeted results
  • Monitor and control maintenance KPIs related to external platforms manufacturing

You will need to have

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in Engineering Environment
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)

 

  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices for the pharma environment, to respect the quality and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering
  • Knowledge of Project Management
  • Knowledge of suppliers management
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and technical investigations
