About the role:


The Procurement Associate at Chiesi Australia is responsible for ensuring implementation of Chiesi Australia's Procurement Policy, negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors in order to achieve the best terms and conditions that align with Chiesi’s expectations and best practises. This role involves managing the purchase order process from initiation to tracking and delivery. In order to be successful in this role you must be well versed in partnering with internal and external stakeholder and building collaborative working relationships.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Implementation of Chiesi Australia & NZ Procurement Policy and ensuring that’s up to date with Global Procurement policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Reviewing and assessing services from the supplier/vendors, investigating improvement opportunities from service and cost point of view
  • Consolidating supplier/vendor to optimize Chiesi Australia supplier structure,
  • Developing the performance metrics for the relevant vendors, by applying KPIs and track improvement/action plans with key partners
  • Reviewing green procurement opportunities and implementing Chiesi Australia Shared Value and Sustainability measures across supplier network (Ecovadis certification, Net Zero Target, Code of Conduct etc)
  • Review and input of information from various contracts and tenders, including scopes of work and affiliated costs.
  • Compare deliverables and pricing with issued Purchase Orders and resolve discrepancies
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve issues with invoices submitted without corresponding Purchase Orders, supporting internal functions for procurement processes
  • Quarterly review of open Purchase Orders to determine needs for change orders and closings
  • Vendor setup, maintenance and master data management
  • Ad hoc projects

 

Experience Required:

 

  • Degree qualified in Science, Business or Logistics.
  • 3+ years of experience in a procurement role within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Understanding of contracts
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and independently
  • Experience with SAP
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
