This is what you will do
The NEM role presents an opportunity for ABPI qualified individual to pursue an interest in NHS stakeholder engagement, regional advocacy, and collaborative working with the NHS.
This role is responsible for supporting and implementing identified activities within the Air 2026 plan as part of the NHS Engagement team. This may involve shaping and influencing local and/or regional decision-makers, supporting, and developing opportunities for collaborations aligned to Chiesi strategy and creating rapid response plans to mitigate risks to Chiesi business.
This role will cover identified NHS stakeholders within specific divisions within the UK. The role at times will require a presence both at Chiesi’s Head Office and in the field to fully meet the role requirements. Occasional European travel may also be needed.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to forge new relationships across the business and with NHS stakeholders beyond those of current field personnel. It will be essential to work closely within PACO and with other functions within Chiesi business to achieve Air 2026 plan.
You will be responsible for
NHS Engagement / Partnerships
- Identify and engage appropriate NHS system level decision makers on a range of topics relevant to the NHS and Chiesi such as Sustainability – SRC/CMI, Health Equity, COPD – diagnostics etc.
- Share messaging and outputs from collaborative working projects and other resources to help shape NHS activities.
- Work cross functionally to design, develop and implement short, medium and long-term plans for prioritised accounts utilising regional & local insight to meet customer needs and the commercial priorities of the business.
- Lead on or support existing collaborative working projects with partners ensuring effective and efficient communication and time management.
Continuous learning by and insight gathering
- Responsible for ensuring continued learning and knowledge regarding the latest policy changes or landscape NHS changes, sharing relevant insights appropriately.
Internal Chiesi cross-functional working
- Develop excellence in cross-functional working with internal Chiesi teams such as the xf COPD, Asthma or CMI groups.
- In line with annual objectives, contribute and support the UK Affiliates Air 2026 plan.
You will need to have
- Appropriate degree related to the pharmaceutical industry
- Full awareness of ABPI Code of Practice
- ABPI qualified
- Driving license
- Experience of influencing successfully in a complex organisation
- Experience of working cross-functionally
- Effective problem solver
- Stakeholder profiling – understanding roles/ responsibilities/ metrics / accountabilities
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of NHS Landscape
- Understand where to source information
- Ability to use data/evidence for engagement purpose
We would prefer for you to have
- A Science or Business qualification
- Membership of a healthcare professional body
- Experience of NHS-Industry collaborations
- Experience of working within both NHS and pharmaceutical industry
- Experience of working on projects with shared goals/objectives
- Awareness of care pathways
- Tools and methodologies used by NHS including commissioning packs, quality improvement, pathway audit & analysis
- Data analysis for population health management
- Understanding of NHS funding flows and pathways
