Job Purpose

As the Internal Communications Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of the internal communications strategy within the organisation. This essential function is aimed at ensuring strategic and operational alignment and promoting Chiesi’s culture and values throughout the business to support all employees (both field based and head office) to feel engaged, energised and empowered.

Profile

  • Significant experience within an Internal Communications function; with previous programme and line management responsibilities.
  • Ability to define and deliver against clear functional strategic goals.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating outstanding accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Creative flare; with a passion for driving innovative approaches.
  • Extensive content creation and delivery experience across various audience and format types (i.e. email, newsletters, intranet content, videos, and presentations)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet/Intranet platforms.
  • Ability to work autonomously; prioritising and managing own workload effectively while being flexible and adaptive to changing priorities emerging issues, short deadlines and other demands or challenges.
  • Strong grasp of how to use data to drive improvements.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to identify future or existing issues and advise on how to approach solutions.
  • Confidence in representing the communications function across all levels of the organisation; regularly advising senior management on the communication of information. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal sensitively and diplomatically with a range of people.

Communication Delivery & Project Management

You will be responsible for producing communications that are clear, concise, and aligned with the company’s goals, values and brand identity. This requires the ability to understand different audiences taking into account differences in locations, roles and culture, utilising data and best practice tools and techniques to deliver continuously impactful communications in an ever changing world. We would like applications from people brimming with ideas, with a passion for driving innovative approaches and a deep knowledge of the internal communications discipline. 

 

The role demands the management of multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, often under tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment. The role regularly handles sensitive and confidential information, therefore discretion and integrity are important traits. Success in this position will rely on a solution-oriented mindset and a readiness to experiment with new approaches to communication, while consistently maintaining focus and performance under pressure.

 

You will also be tasked with developing robust communication plans, providing structure and clarity to internal messaging. Working with stakeholders across all levels of the business, you will be expected to contribute confidently; challenging established ways of working where necessary and putting forward suggestions for improvement to ensure internal communications remain impactful and forward-thinking.

Main Responsibilities

You will work in close partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders to embed focused, clear, consistent, and fully aligned internal communications against the company's strategic priorities. With a direct report, you will support the creation and delivery of a clear strategy and engaging content designed to foster clarity and employee engagement.

 

  • Significantly contribute to the development - and own the implementation - of an industry-leading internal communications strategy looking at both the long and short term view with clear goals and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and evolve a seamless internal communication channel plan to support the cascade of information to employees in the most visible and meaningful way.
  • Work closely with the Human Resources function to ensure that employee policies, rewards and recognition initiatives are understood and valued by colleagues across the business, as well as playing a key role in the Great Place to Work accreditation.
  • Drive the continuous review and adoption of effective formats for internal communications based on data, showing leadership in the use of innovative platforms such as podcasts, events, AI etc. 
  • Work closely with Global teams to localise global initiatives.
  • Own and manage the UK communications platforms such as CShare and Viva Engage to provide compelling and timely key news and events.
  • Oversee the organisation and expert execution of compelling internal events building in the latest best practice approaches to in person, hybrid and digital events.
  • Co-ordinate the roll-out of engagement surveys to ensure high response rates and a continuous data-driven approach within the function. Champion and act on feedback with a strong commitment to driving improvement.
  • Work with other internal departments to support the design and creation of internal communications, across appropriate media, as required.
  • Support senior management team with their own internal communications delivery including development of talking points, speeches, presentations. Coach and support managers on the delivery of core information to their teams.
  • Nurturing and managing relationships with agencies and third parties supporting events and internal communication activities.
  • Manage internal communication and events budgets.
  • Respond and deliver to ad hoc work requests from immediate line manager and/or senior managers.
  • Ensure strict compliance to company standards (SOPs), the ABPI Code of Practice and other ethical standards according to company guidelines and expectations.
  • In line with annual objectives, contribute and support the UK Affiliate in its pursuit to become a more sustainable business.
