Purpose

 

The Medical Manager ensures that the medical strategy of the assigned business unit is clearly defined and co-creates the scientific image of Chiesi/the BU. In doing so, he/she guarantees medical knowledge and medical and scientific support is provided to internal and external stakeholders. With regard to medical compliance, the Medical Manager assesses materials and activities. The Medical Manager maintains relevant relationships in the medical field, focusing on Key Opinion Leaders.

Main Responsibilities

 

Medical Strategy 
Prepare and realize the medical strategy in such a way that clear and concrete objectives are formulated and achieved.


You will asses and advise on plans created by the Medical Director, taking into account the short- and long-term effects on organisational, commercial and operational areas, identify points for attention and advises on opportunities for improvement.


Medical knowledge
Maintain and transfer medical knowledge within and outside the organization in such a way that the level of medical knowledge within the organization is guaranteed and employees, healthcare providers and patients feel optimally supported.


You will keep your scientific knowledge up to date, identify developments in the field and translate this into Chiesi's practice; you will also ensure the content of product, clinical picture documentation and presentations are based on the latest state of science.


Compliance and Quality Assurance
Manage and monitor the quality of products and activities in such a way that Chiesi complies with all guidelines and healthcare providers and patients are correctly informed.

 

You will maintain the assigned medical affairs portfolio; you will assess materials and activities both technically and medically and monitors that only approved materials are used. 

 

Medical Projects
Prepare and realize projects of which the delivered project results meet the project objectives and relevant knowledge and documents have been transferred, with an efficient use of capacity.


You will intiate and monitor medical projects (studies, training) linked to the product strategy; you are responsible for the complete project, starting with a projectplan with specifications regarding time, staffing, budget and quality and ensures the approval of this by the Medical Director and/or other stakeholders.

 

Networking and proces optimization are also important part in this role. 
 

Experience Required

 

  • Master's degree, for example in medicine, pharmacy or life sciences;
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Knowledge of and experience within the pharmaceutical care field;
  • Knowledge of CGR legislation.
  • Extensive experience in the field of clinical research, of which at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position;
  • Experience with electronic information systems;
  • Experience with project-based work and independently managing and coordinating projects
