Who we are looking for

Purpose

In the context of the Global Library Unit the Library and Information Specialist will foster customer-oriented support by implementing a tailored approach to bibliographic resources. She/he will oversee the management of the document delivery service and correlated tools, also being responsible of training end-users on bibliographic resources. The person will collaborate with the Scientific Knowledge unit by supporting the news alerting service activities and performing tailored bibliographic searches.
 

Main Responsibilities

The role has different souls:

  • Document Delivery service Management: Oversees the Document Delivery service and correlated tool.  Contributes to scouting of new bibliographic resources and potential customer-oriented implementations. Offers trainings on research and citation skills. 
  • Bibliographic support service: Responsible for providing tailored bibliographic searches and analyses pertaining to all the therapeutic areas of interest in support of end-users and SKAI colleagues. Stays up-to-date and contributes proactively to identify areas of improvement or new processes and resources to be explored.
  • Customers Education: Implements a continuous learning training programme on the Bibliographic resources available in the Global Library to support the end-users in their professional developments and daily activities. 
  • Alerting Services: In collaboration with the scientific knowledge team contributes to the News Alerting service activities.
  • Interacts, when necessary, with vendors providing information services/tools.

Experience Required

1-3 years’ experience in information gathering and bibliographic research within a pharma company, particularly in Scientific/External data and information management. 
 

Education

Master's degree in biotechnology, biology, or other Scientific subjects
 

Languages

Fluent in written and oral English
 

Technical Skills

  • Good Knowledge of sources, tools and databases for the retrieval of Scientific information
  • Good knowledge of drug development process
  • Possibly basic knowledge of scientific library processes; Familiarity with Chiesi Therapeutic Areas
  • Computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office applications/software
