Chiesi Research & Development
Our R&D team represents a fundamental asset for the business. It is divided into integrated functional areas focusing on pipeline projects including discovery and preclinical research, chemical manufacturing and controls, drug delivery technology, clinical development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, intellectual property, quality assurance, R&D project and portfolio management. Who we are looking for
Purpose
PK and PK/PD modeling and simulation expert in the pre-clinical Pharmacokinetic, Biochemistry & Metabolism department
Main Responsibilities
- The candidate should cover the position of preclinical DMPK expert in dynamic cross-functional teams conducting PK and PK/PD modelling and simulation analysis in preclinical drug discovery finalized to evaluate NCEs human therapeutic windows.
- Together with the ADME/PK expert role in discovery teams, is requested the design of PK/PD models and the development of mathematical modelling approaches to link pre-clinical and clinical data by the identification of the appropriate PK and PD drivers related to efficacy and safety. Models should be developed as compartmental models and as whole body physiologically-based PK models, evaluated according to statistical tests and used applying the translational medicine principles.
- Good interaction is requested with clinical departments in all the phases to refine drug projection, knowledge and propose input and hypotheses on protocol designs.
Experience Required
At leasr 3 years previous experience in Pharma with significant experience in the following areas: Pharmacokinetic or pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modelling, physiologically based pharmacokinetic modelling

Technical Skills
- Strong non-compartmental analysis experience
- Experience using Phoenix WinNonlin or similar software to conduct non-compartmental and compartmental analysis.
- Mathematical and statistical background
- Mathematical modelling with experience in modelling biological data
- Demonstrated understanding of the drug development process
- Ability to interact and collaborate with scientists from various disciplines and functional areas
- Problem-solving ability applying ADME/PK principles to mitigate project issues
