Chiesi Global Rare Diseases
Chiesi Global Rare Diseases is a Chiesi Group’s business unit established in February 2020 and focused on research, development and commercialization of treatments and patient support services for rare and ultra-rare disorders, many of whom have limited or no treatments available.
The unit is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, and has an initial focus on research and product development for lysosomal storage diseases, rare hematology and ophthalmology disorders. The unit is also a dedicated partner with global leaders in scientific research, patient advocacy and care.
Purpose
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Patient Advocacy Intern to join our team in Parma. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic and meaningful world of global rare disease advocacy. Main Activities
As a Patient Advocacy Intern, you will:
• Support the design and execution of patient advocacy programs and initiatives.
• Help coordinate patient engagement activities, including events, workshops, and advisory boards.
• Conduct research on patient needs, lived experiences, and policy trends to inform strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the patient voice is embedded in company decision-making.
• Draft and review internal and external communication materials such as newsletters, reports, and social media posts.
• Maintain accurate documentation of activities and patient interactions.
• Assist with project management tasks: tracking timelines, preparing presentations, and ensuring operational efficiency.
• Show initiative by identifying opportunities to enhance advocacy impact, contributing proactively to the team’s success.
Education
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Public Health, Political/ Social Sciences, Communications, Degree in scientific, economic, or foreign languages).
Languages
Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
