Chiesi Research & Development

Our R&D team represents a fundamental asset for the business. Who we are looking for

Purpose

By joining the Medicinal Chemistry & Drug Design Technologies (MCDDT) Unit, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of computational tools and workflows supporting the design and optimization of oligonucleotide-based and small molecules therapeutics. You will be involved in coding, data analysis, and modeling activities aimed at accelerating drug discovery through in silico approaches. Your work will support the generation of high-quality computational data and software prototypes, contributing to early-stage research and innovation in alignment with scientific and quality standards.

Main Activities

You will be involved in the development of computational solutions supporting drug discovery, with a focus on oligonucleotides and small molecules. You will have the opportunity to learn and to improve your coding skills applied to drug discovery field:

• Assisting in the development and testing of computational tools for the design and analysis of oligonucleotides and small molecules.
• Writing and maintaining Python or R scripts for data processing, molecular modeling, and visualization.
• Supporting the integration of cheminformatics and bioinformatics data into internal platforms and databases.
• Contributing to the automation of routine tasks in drug design workflows.
• Participating in the analysis and interpretation of computational results, under the guidance of senior scientists.
• Collaborating with team members to document code, workflows, and results in a clear and reproducible manner.
• Exploring scientific literature and existing tools to identify best practices and innovative approaches.

Education

Preferred degree in CTF, Pharmacy, Biotechnologies or currently performing thesis in computational chemistry or bioinformatics.

Languages

Ability to comprehend and analyze scientific literature in English.

Technical Skills

- Basic knowledge of computational chemistry techniques: docking, Molecular dynamics
- Interest in learning and applying Python for scientific computing and data analysis.
- Basic knowledge of Python (e.g., scripting, data handling, or visualization) is a plus.
