Purpose

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for: 

•    Support on preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
•    Work close to the Senior Accountant and Accounting Director on research technical accounting over new Company transactions and new accounting standards, establish and maintain local technical accounting policies and ensure compliance with IFRS Group Accounting Manual and other technical accounting requirements.
•    Review and document routine and non-routine technical accounting guidance and conclusions in accounting memorandums 
•    Maintain working knowledge of IFRS and remain up to date on new accounting developments from other relevant governing bodies.
•    Perform payments in Bank platform and support departments on Vendor questions.
•    Manage accounts reconciliation process and rollforward 
•    Prepare reports to external stakeholders (Census activities)
•    Special projects and ad-hoc responsibilities and analyses as directed.

The position will work with:

•    Other members of the Finance, FP&A teams and Global Capabilities Network colleagues
•    International and domestic departments and managers throughout the organization 
  

Main Responsibilities

Accounts Payable and General Ledger:
•    Review and finalize weekly payment run prepared by Global AP Team
•    Liaise between local departs and Global AP team.  
•    Prepare franchise tax and process State and Federal income tax payments.
•    Work with Sr Accountant, FP&A and department managers to accurately record some prepaid expenses.
•    Prepare and send other nonroutine journals entries to global GL team as needed. 
•    Prepare account reconciliations for various GL accounts (e.g.  prepaid, elimination, investments, equity, contingent consideration, VAT, etc.) 
•    Manage cash pooling account movement and reconcile that.


Management Reporting:
•    Liaise with FP&A team to assist with and support monthly internal reporting compared to budget/forecast.
•    Liaise, as needed, with Parent Company Finance team.
•    Support cash report preparation to Corporate Treasury on a monthly basis
•    Elaborate and submit Census report to areas as needed.
•    Support on sustainability report preparation to Group


Annual Reporting:     
•    Assist Sr. Accountant and Accounting Director to prepare the Company’s:

  •      Audited Annual Financial Statements and Disclosures 
  •      Subsidiary Reporting Package for consolidation into Group financial statements   
  •      Year-end accounting memorandums

•    Support and deliver PBC requests from local audit team ensuring requests are provided timely and serve as a liaison with external auditors


Technical Accounting Research & Documentation:
•    Work with Sr accountant on technical accounting research for complex accounting transactions (e.g., Business Development M&A, Leases, etc.) 
•    Document findings and conclusions in accounting memorandums (“white papers”)
•    Assist with analyzing and tracking new IFRS accounting standards and accounting policies passed down by Group


Other Accounting Areas:
•    Maintain Reporting department calendar and process documentation.
•    Ad-hoc projects at direction of Accounting Director 

Experience Required

•    CPA qualification desirable and knowledge of IFRS
•    Minimum of 1 year of experience in general ledger or financial reporting accounting role
•    Master’s degree in finance or accounting is a plus.
•    Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
•    SAP FI and CO modules experience is a plus.
•    Advanced analytical skills 
•    Demonstrated proficiency in Written, Verbal, and Face-to-face communication. 
•    Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with department managers
•    Flexibility to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines
•    Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and multifunctional resources concurrently while maintaining high attention to detail

Education

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance
