Who we are looking for
Purpose
The Senior Product Manager (Sr. PM) serves as a Brand Lead and oversees all US marketing of KENGREAL® (cangrelor), which is used in the field of interventional cardiology. KENGREAL is a growing product and the only IV formulation in its class. Key responsibilities include maintaining a strategic view of relevant market/therapeutic dynamics that impact Kengreal; developing and communicating actionable Commercial plans that align these dynamics with company objectives; and driving the implementation of these plans, which often includes cross-functional and inter-agency involvement. Maintaining a strong orientation towards the needs of customers is vital. The Sr. PM will work with the Brand Strategy Lead to develop strategies and overall marketing plans, and will have lead responsibility in the execution of the marketing plan and associated campaigns and tactics to effectively grow market segments.
The Sr. Product Manager should be able to travel up to approximately 25% and is expected to work in the Cary NC office at least 3 days per week.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop institutional expertise in assigned disease states, ensuring the delivery of relevant messaging and full understanding of available opportunities
- Foster candid and productive relationships with our customers, to include KOLs, product champions and relevant patient advocacy groups to ensure close alignment with customer’s needs
- Understand all relevant guidelines and evidence and associated impact
- Identify new business opportunities through market expansion or development
- Serve as primary lead on cross-functional projects related to assigned brands
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research
- Continually assess market conditions and competitive activity
Commercial Plan Development and Implementation:
- Lead the development and delivery of an annual cross-function customer-focused brand plan
- Partner with key field-based and HQ-based colleagues to ensure their understanding and alignment with critical success factors associated with brand plan
- Direct and manage the creation of tactics for both personal and non-personal promotion with omni-channel marketing capabilities
- Achieve P&L goals for assigned products
- Partner with all relevant field-based commercial personnel, as well as management teams to ensure understanding of critical success factors and provide support
- Attend national conferences to ensure successful exhibits, understand competitive position, cultivate customer relationships and gauge appropriateness and receptiveness of messaging and sales materials
- Monitor and control program performance, establishing relevant KPIs and leveraging available data to assess ROI and redirect resources as needed
Project Management and Execution:
- Effectively manage multiple agency partners to produce high-quality deliverables within timelines and allocated budget
- Gain approval for marketing materials through internal review process and work collaboratively with review team; accountable for adhering to Chiesi promotional and regulatory standards
- Set priorities in cases of conflicting requirements
- Manage large-scale departmental or cross-departmental projects (as assigned)
- Manage budget and conduct financial management processes for assigned products
Analytical Thinking and Communication:
- Leverage in-house assets and teams to generate market, brand, and customer analytics
- Generate and deliver impactful presentations that share key findings for internal forums to include C-suite presentations and national/regional Sales meetings
- Produce product monthly Marketing report
- Communicate effectively within the organization to ensure the motivation and alignment of all key stakeholders to achieve product objectives
Personal and Departmental Development:
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement related to Marketing procedures and partners
- Partner with manager to develop and execute personal development plan
- Attend/complete educational programs to enhance skills and knowledge in designated areas
Experience Required
- Minimum 5+ progressive years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing, including experience in developing and executing marketing plans
- If currently in pharmaceutical field Sales, ranking required to be in top 30% or higher overall for the most recent 2 prior quarters
- Significant experience with drugs used >70% within the hospital, or adjacent rare disease specialties, is preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university, MBA preferred
