Who we are looking for
Purpose
The Product Manager, with support from senior leadership, will lead strategic market analysis, develop marketing strategies, build and execute high-impact marketing plans and create associated campaigns and tactics to effectively grow market segments. This position will maintain full P&L responsibilities for assigned products, and will be expected to deliver detailed product and program performance analysis to support alignment with business goals. Collaboration with other departments, including medical, regulatory, sales, finance, business knowledge, customer experience and decision support will be required. The Product Manager should be able to travel approximately 10%-20%. This includes travel in the field to visit customers and attend regional and national tradeshows throughout the year, including some weekends. The Product Manager will also develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, advocacy groups, industry and agency partners. The preferred candidate will be within commuting distance of Cary, NC to support our hybrid working model.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Develop institutional knowledge of neonatology space and ensure brand strategies are appropriately aligned to support/complement needs of HCPs.
- Develop and refine the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the company's overall objectives and market needs.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate product performance and understand key performance drivers.
- Monitor customer experience and feedback to generate new ideas to support marketing strategies and activities development.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to identify market trends, opportunities, and potential areas for product and strategy improvement.
- Design and conduct speaker program content and drive coordination of speaker training
Marketing Plan Development and Implementation:
- Develop, present and gain approval for annual brand plan.
- Partner with key field-based and HQ-based colleagues to ensure understanding and alignment of critical success factors associated with brand plan.
- Direct and execute the creation of programs for personal and non-personal promotion, sales training and educational materials.
- Liaise with advertising agencies and other vendors to design campaigns and sales collateral for the product/service that are effective and appropriate for the target audience.
- Monitor and control program performance, establishing relevant KPIs and leveraging available data to assess ROI and redirect resources as needed.
Project Leadership
- Effectively manage multiple agency partners to produce high-quality deliverables within timelines and allocated budget.
- Gain approval for marketing materials through internal PRB review process; accountable for adhering to Chiesi promotional and regulatory standards.
- Set priorities in cases of conflicting requirements.
- Manage budget and conduct financial management processes for assigned products.
Reports and Presentations:
- Generate and deliver high-quality presentations for national sales meetings, POAs, annual marketing plan and initial sales training.
- Provide monthly product and campaign performance through Cross Functional Monthly Meeting.
- Provide quarterly product updates to Leadership team.
- Communicate effectively within the organization to ensure the motivation and alignment of all key stakeholders to achieve product objectives.
Personal and Departmental Development:
- Partner with manager to develop and execute personal development plan.
- Attend/complete educational programs to enhance skills and knowledge in designated areas.
- Present to internal colleagues on relevant areas of marketing expertise.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement related to Marketing department procedures and partners.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing, including experience in developing and executing strategic plans for in-market or launch products/services
- Significant experience with drugs used >70% within the hospital, or adjacent disease specialties, preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with focus, and build consensus without authority
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and multifunctional resources concurrently while maintaining high attention to detail while responding to rapidly changing priorities and aggressive deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to drive business results through the development and execution of successful innovative personal and non-personal marketing campaigns
- Self-directed with ability to build teamwork on shared projects and goals
- Strong project management, analytical thinking and financial modeling skills
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity and strategic relationship-building
- Entrepreneurial spirit, energy, personal drive and motivation
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university
