Who we are looking for

This is what you will do

The Procurement Advisor serves business stakeholders as Procurement Partner within assigned functional areas. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Indirect Procurement, the Procurement Advisor owns the sourcing and contracting processes for assigned categories. The role requires a willingness to collaborate cross-functionally with others, communicate in a global environment, manage competing priorities, and grow professionally. The scope of business partnership responsibilities will depend on the successful candidate, but may include Commercial Excellence, Compliance, Human Resources, Marketing, Patient Advocacy and Services, and Quality. A colleague joining as Procurement Advisor is expected to step into any of these areas as the Procurement Partner.

You’ll be responsible for:

Business Partnership:

  • Foster long-term partnerships with our internal stakeholders through collaboration, engagement, and alignment with business strategy and objectives
  • Provide procurement support to departments and business units as assigned, including education on procurement policies and tools
  • Work with business stakeholders to manage agreements and statements of work (SOW)
  • Collaborate with business teams to explore new business requirements, contribute to business cases and initiatives, and plan projects requiring procurement support
  • Provide supplier market expertise to business partners

 

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Become an SME for the markets within assigned categories, leveraging needed tools and skills to analyze industry trends to steer the category and support internal stakeholders
  • Own spend analysis for assigned areas, supporting spend baseline, supplier segmentation, and other strategic sourcing activities
  • Through collaboration with internal business partners and Global Procurement colleagues, develop strategies aligned with our business needs
  • Within assigned scope, manage the end-to-end RFx process, including preparation of tenders, proposal review, and stakeholder assessment
  • Lead negotiation for agreements and statements of work for assigned scope

 

Supplier Engagement:

  • Actively participate in initiatives including but not limited to risk assessments, responsible sourcing, and an evaluation program for supplier relationship management
  • Lead supplier meetings, such as introductory/overview discussions, capabilities presentations, and business reviews
  • Represent regional interests for globally managed suppliers, contributing to optimal relationships for the Chiesi Group while supporting internal business partners
  • Encourage supplier participation in tools (assessments, surveys, etc.) throughout the lifecycle of the business relationship
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure supplier data and documentation is complete

 

Support Initiatives:

  • Provide leadership to one or more of Procurement’s strategic focus areas: procurement excellence, responsible sourcing, supplier relationship management
  • Ensure contribution to Global Procurement KPIs, e.g., savings, spend coverage by sustainability assessment, etc.
  • Collaborate with Global and regional colleagues to complete Procurement process initiatives
  • Serve on Global workstreams as requested

You will need to have

  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a business- or science-related area
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar software suite
  • Customer experience orientation, enabling support excellence for internal stakeholders  
  • Ability to establish supplier requirements in conjunction with business leaders; measure and drive conformance to requirements; and manage business relationships to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated English proficiency for written, verbal, and face-to-face communication
  • Successful management of multiple competing priorities while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Ability to use project management skills to update status, key actions, risks, and opportunities
  • High level of cultural awareness for regular interaction in global teams

We would prefer for you to have

  • Engagement with one or more of the following: digital innovation, responsible sourcing, supplier relationship management
  • Experience working in the life sciences sector
  • Expertise with project management approaches and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to use advanced analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of utilizing a large ERP, preferably SAP
  • Familiarity with business information dashboards

Location

We are a hybrid-first workplace. Candidates must be able to work from our Cary office three (3) days in a typical week.
