Who we are looking for
Purpose
The Lead, Commercial Training, AIR, US is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the respiratory curriculum and support the launch of the AIR franchise in the US. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that enhance the capabilities of our sales force, ensuring they are well-equipped to drive product success and meet commercial objectives for the AIR Business Unit. This position requires a collaborative individual with strong leadership skills who can build an alliance with sales, marketing, business and customer excellence, medical and other important stakeholders in to achieve the successful launch of a new therapeutic area in a highly competitive market. Preferred candidates will be local to Cary, NC and able to work the hybrid model.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging, effective, and compliant training curricula for the sales team, focusing on respiratory therapeutics.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including e-learning, workshops, and hands-on training sessions.
- Manages budget and resources to maximize utilization including vendor scope of work, costs and deadlines.
- Lead training initiatives for new product launches, ensuring the sales team is fully prepared with in-depth product knowledge and sales strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, medical affairs, and business/customer excellence) to align training content with product positioning and market strategy.
- Create and continuously update training materials, including manuals, presentations, and digital content, to reflect the latest product information and market trends.
- Implement assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and knowledge retention.
- Provide ongoing support and coaching to the sales team, addressing knowledge gaps and enhancing sales techniques.
- Conduct regular field visits to observe sales interactions and provide real-time feedback.
- Analyze sales performance data to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to address performance gaps and enhance overall sales effectiveness.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align training programs with business goals and strategic initiatives.
Experience Required
- In-depth knowledge of respiratory diseases, treatments, and landscape preferred
- Ability to translate complex medical info into practical sales training content
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
- Demonstrated experience managing and coaching teams, directory or through indirect reporting lines, leading programs, projects or vendors
- 8+ years experience in pharmaceuticals and 4+ years experience in commercial training role with development of a full curriculum
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, HR, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or related scientific realm highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing a training curriculum in a launch situation, including mass hiring
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships
- front line sales management and market access/reimbursement experience is preferred
