Purpose

Manage in-line product portfolio forecasting, primary and secondary market research, and commercial analytics. Responsibilities include sales team incentive compensation, operational analytics support to Sales, Marketing, Value and Market Access, Medical, and Customer Experience, and business systems such as customer relationship management (CRM) and marketing automation platform (MAP). Cross functional role interfacing with Executive Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Medical, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing. Responsibility for managing team of direct reports, as well as multiple cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.

Main Responsibilities

Forecasting and Market Research

  • Work cross-functionally to develop FCT and BDG forecast for in-line products and launch products of the U.S. organization and contribute to cross-functional committees such as pricing and S&OP manufacturing planning.
  • Responsible for market research and competitive intelligence projects commissioned by product managers and corporate.
  • Responsible for the procurement of all data sets that support the ongoing operation of the commercial functions. 

Analytics

  • Develop, implement, and optimize operational processes for analytics to increase effectiveness of customer-facing functions, such as physician and hospital coverage and targeting, sales force call plan, market and competitor assessments, sales incentive compensation design and administration.
  • Interface with other company functions at senior management levels to deliver consistent, accurate, and insightful analyses.
  • Report analytical findings, sales performance, effectiveness, or other KPIs.
  • Recommend course of actions based on analyses to achieve and/or increase productivity of customer-facing functions.

Commercial Data Warehouse and Operational Systems

  • Maintain and continuously improve the commercial data warehouse to support analytics needs.
  • Implement and drive data governance processes.
  • Oversight of Customer Relationship Management system (CRM system) and the operation of Marketing Automation Platform (MAP).

  • Complies with the company’s standard operating procedures and observes timelines
  • Makes recommendations on budget expenditures within designated limits
  • Ensures team meets established goals and objectives
  • Liaises with other departments in an efficient, friendly, and courteous manner
  • Perform other duties needed 

Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the specialty pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry.  Prior experience in sales, marketing, marketing research, forecasting and business analysis required.  Candidates with relevant analyst experience in investment banking and/or investment management fields will also be considered.  A thorough understanding of the processes of due diligence combined with a scientific and business acumen is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of success working in life science business environment.
  • Possesses superior financial, analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong expertise with quantitative data and secondary market research sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health Solutions, etc.).
  • Must be able to synthesize critical actionable insights from multiple sources through collaboration and shared accountability, interpret various, complex data reports, and make relevant and meaningful recommendations to management.
  • A proficiency in strategic tactics while demonstrating an awareness of the market and how the changes might impact different brands within the Company’s portfolio. 
  • Possesses strong organizational, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Possesses a strong customer focus with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline constraints.
  • Demonstrated leadership strength and proven record in leading and developing a team with diverse background.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Education

    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in finance, marketing or life sciences subject required.  MBA preferred.
