Who we are looking for
Purpose
The Sr. Manager, Forecasting is a member of the commercial team that partners closely with Marketing, Finance, Value and Access, and Early Commercial Strategy. This position is responsible for the standard corporate product portfolio forecast (CARE & AIR), business development opportunity assessment, and high-quality solutions to ad hoc requests. The Sr. Manager serves as an internal consultant to senior leadership and brand teams and helps them make informed strategic decisions through analytic guidance and insights.
Main Responsibilities
Company Product Portfolio Forecast – responsible for creating the demand forecast for the in-line product portfolio (CARE & AIR) and pipeline products.
- Develop forecasts for all company products (CARE & AIR), based upon sound assumptions and business analysis. Provide an unbiased point of view on the market/brands, supported by facts and evidence.
- Provide weekly & monthly reports and explanation on the variance to forecast, which combines secondary data and general business insights.
- Develop and deliver clear, concise presentations that synthesize disparate data (market research, secondary data, etc.), and demonstrates a deep understanding of the market dynamics, competition, and brand.
- Lead the forecast reviews and present forecast overviews and recommendations to stakeholders within the organization.
- Lead and provide actionable insights, intelligence and recommendations to company senior leadership, brand leadership and other key stakeholders relative to the market and competitive forces driving opportunities and threats that could impact our product portfolio (AIR & CARE).
- Develop comprehensive and predictive market and competitive landscape assessments based on a thorough analysis of internal and external business issues using accepted analytical methodologies and ensure integration of intelligence and deliverables into brand planning, forecasting, Managed Markets, and strategic decision making.
- Create scenario-based forecasts to account for different market conditions and potential disruptions. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business strategies and align forecasting efforts accordingly.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to integrate forecasting into overall business planning. Provide regular updates and insights to internal stakeholders, highlighting key findings and potential opportunities or risks.
Ad hoc Analysis – responsible ad hoc analytic projects based on the requests from Finance, Marketing, Early Commercial Strategy, and Business Excellence.
- Help management team to identify opportunities and threats through analytics.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis to address specific business questions or challenges that may arise. Provide quick and insightful analysis in response to urgent and unforeseen market developments.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 6 years of forecasting, finance, or other business intelligence experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong grasp of forecasting, finance, marketing science, and financial modeling.
- Extensive knowledge and use of both primary and secondary data. Experience in understanding of qualitative and quantitative research is required.
- Ability to think strategically and connect analytics with the overarching business questions and understand the link between brand strategy and analytic insights.
- Manage ambiguity by questioning data and/or stakeholder for further nuanced information.
- High attention to details.
- Ability to multitask and deliver results in tight timelines, and adaptability to fast paced, frequently changing environment.
- Team player and collaborates well with cross-functional team members from diverse backgrounds and work styles.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Must be proficient with all MS Office applications, including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe; advanced Excel skills required.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited university required, preferably in business and/or sciences. Advanced degrees in business or sciences are preferred.
