Who we are looking for

This is what you will do

The Lead, Patient Services Marketing (or Associate Director) for Rare Disease is responsible for developing and executing patient-centric marketing strategies that support access, engagement, and adherence for individuals living with rare conditions. Given the complexity and emotional burden of rare diseases, this role plays a critical part in ensuring patients and caregivers are aware of and able to navigate available support services. This role ensures that patients have timely access to resources that support their treatment journey—from initiation through adherence—while aligning closely with brand strategy, legal/compliance requirements, and cross-functional partners. The position plays a key role in shaping a patient-centric experience through innovative, compliant, and impactful multi-channel marketing campaigns.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead strategic planning and execution of omnichannel marketing campaigns (email, direct mail, websites, mobile apps, social media, SMS/MMS, SEM/SEO, print) to drive patient engagement and support service utilization across therapeutic portfolios.
  • Manage agency relationships (creative, strategy, media, measurement, CRM vendors) to deliver patient-centric marketing programs aligned with brand imperatives.
  • Spearhead platform-driven campaigns, including use of AI or CRM platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager, Veeva) for segmentation and personalization.
  • Develop and maintain MLR/PRB compliant patient-facing materials and shepherd content through regulatory & legal approvals.
  • Define and measure KPI frameworks, report results, and drive optimization recommendations for campaign scaling across brands.
  • Guide cross-functional teams (Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Market Access, Field, Legal, Compliance, Analytics) to ensure cohesive implementation and alignment.
  • Lead and mentor junior marketing professionals or managers, including involvement in planning and oversight of marketing budgets and resource allocation.

You will need to have

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, marketing, business, or other related area.
  • 5–8+ years in pharma/biotech marketing, with specific expertise in patient engagement or patient services in rare disease, or related areas.
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience across digital marketing channels, CRM strategy, patient journey mapping, segmentation, and brand/customer messaging.
  • Regulatory compliance understanding (MLR/PRC) is essential, including content approvals and governance process handling.
  • Leadership & collaboration skills: experience managing agencies, budgets, stakeholders, and influencing without authority.
  • Analytical mindset: ability to translate qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable strategies and optimization.
